Christina.... just completely at a loss, in all the best ways. Your rawness and realness and vulnerability and ability to paint pictures with words is just such a gift. Thank you for sharing this and for continuing to trust that there is a reason. Because there is.

Felt every word hit my heart in the places I dare to keep in the shadows..

Thank you for your vulnerability..

And with that I will gladly boast that His banner over you is Love x

Gosh, this was beautiful Christina and I love the analogy of the blanket. Your piece really resonated with me, especially the concept of home and trauma and how they can tie together 💫

Thank you so much, Mackenzie. It’s always mixed feelings when something painful resonates with people because on one hand, I’m grateful you could find kinship in my work, but on the other, I’m sorry for whatever you’ve been through that has meant you find kingship here. Bless you, and thank you for reading!

I’ve been going through something similar in my life — I moved far away from the place I still call home to work in ministry, and have been struggling to make do.

Thank you for the reminder that in these seasons we can burrow in if we must. That perhaps hibernating is just what we need.

For what it’s worth, I like to think of those dark, wounded places in our lives as the dark that upholds the stars. There’s so much that doesn’t make sense, and so much hurt. We search for reasons, we grapple for strength. We try to reimagine what has been lost.

And though we can’t always make the trauma into a star, it can become part of the larger, greater tapestry - the one being woven and spoken over us by God.

I pray that while you wait to be in a place that fits, a place that makes your soul sing, that the Lord’s love is a warm, soft blanket for you to hide away in.

Thank you so much for such beautiful, thoughtful words, Ashley. I pray the same over you. May the Lord bless you and keep you in this season of feeling displaced.

Goodness… I am currently in a place I want to run away from too. It hurts like nobodies business and I am just stuck here… I needed this… very much.

It does hurt. Every day. I wake up and want to claw that blanket off every. single. day. I’m sorry you’re going through it too, Britt. ♥️

Substack has been an amazing community to be a part of to combat feelings of loneliness. You’re so right, there’s much pain and emotions harbored in the places we’ve once been welcomed to. I hope you’re able to feel the warmth of a blanket one day that feels just right 💕
