I have no words. Just a deep, deep, deep sigh of relief. Thank you for these words. They are in many ways an answer to a prayer I’ve been praying lately. ❤️

Praise God! This felt like a more niche topic to write about, and I was hoping it would reach just one person! Dusty and I also JUST did a podcast episode on this! I can send you the link if you want to listen, Brittany!

Love this! I find it fascinating to see other writers touch on the same topics in their writing, at the same time I’ve been reflecting and writing about the same things (like music and its sacredness). Especially since the ideas often come to me in prayer, it’s like we’re all connected to fulfill a Holy Spirit led mission 😇

Just want to say that, as a man in a very different field (academic science), that ingrained desire to be different and stand out affects me in pretty much the same way. Thank you for sharing this - gives me plenty to bring to God in prayer!

Yes totally totally. It's being normal that should be celebrated, being part of the whole, doing the everyday stuff. And unoriginally, I wrote a post on the same thing: https://open.substack.com/pub/stephanielam1/p/ordinary-times?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=18jde4

Yes this! I want to write a book on a subject that hundreds of other people have written about. I have struggled because I feel I have to offer something unique but actually what is unique is my story.

This is interesting - and it makes me want to push back just a tiny bit.

You *are* unique. We all are. We are created in the image of God.

You don't have to be 'different', or do something no one else has done. Although, you will by your unique nature do something different with the same material, as you point out.

You don't have to try to be unique. You are.

Every chocolate chip cookie is a little different, too :)

I don’t disagree! I’m not saying that we don’t possess uniqueness. I’m saying that striving for it isn’t actually what gets us what “uniqueness” promises. :)

gotcha.

It's funny that if you type 'unique' enough, it stops looking ... unique.
