Christina,

Speaking of this year being a Jubilee year, you'll be interested to read my article showing that 2025 is actually the 70th Jubilee anniversary. It's at https://standinfaith.org/when-is-the-next-jubilee-year/

2025 also has quite fascinating planetary alignments and numerical significance. I did not realize it was a Jubilee year or even jubilee of jubilee. Every day I have noticed massive shifts in everything that was dark moving towards the light. Uncanny. Definitely noticed the trend towards spirituality and a calling for many of us who had been pushed out of the church, an internal call to return.

Christina, when you talked about how you saw your role for the Kingdom spread out before you and how Christians need to occupy upper spheres of academia, I about fell out of my chair. The Lord told me that same thing last year when He confirmed to me that I am to go on and pursue a doctorate in art history. I could see the very same thing. He is preparing to topple and remove "kings" and place His people into those positions of influence. Yes, yes, yes.

I completely agree, there seems to be a new hope in 2025. Old dreams are being brought back to the fore, I’m being reminded of things God has said that I’ve long forgotten. Confirmation of promises He’s made and answers to questions that I’ve grown tired of asking. I’m hopeful this is going to be a good year. It’s still going to be a bumpy ride because hope doesn’t smooth the road but it makes it a whole lot easier to hold on with your eyes fixed on where you’re going next.

I have been feeling this too. There is something different about 2025. One example is that in 2024 we baptised 16 people. In 2025 we have 14 people already signed up for baptism in February.

Christina, thank you so much.

'Friend, it’s quite a profound experience to find yourself filled with delight at the sheer fact that you are His good creation. In the sincerest way possible, I really like myself, not out of vanity but out of awe for the One who made me. I am filled with utter excitement as I accept His invitation to step into my own story.'

What a quote. I just listened to a podcast the other day from John Eldredge's ministry, Wild at Heart, and crazily enough, the year of Jubilee was part of the topic on the table! I feel like so many themes are playing out already, this year, and we are only 22 days into 2025. I can't imagine what God has in store for the West, as you, me, and everybody else see redemption change individual lives and nations.

Your comment as well about Christians occupying areas of academia or penetrating the 'intellectual' circles is on point. Sometimes I think everyday people get turned off when we talk about 'intellectualism', as if that's a specific class of people. While I think some people naturally gravitate toward more academian ways of life and learning, all of us are called to be growers and learners for life, especially as Jesus followers.

Thank you again, Christina! I absolutely love your writing style and your message in this post.

Thank you SO much for this, lovely! Thank you for reading, and the thoughts you shared. I couldn't agree more that we are all called to be learners. Maybe not all academics, and that's okay, but we're certainly invited to engage our mind and curiosity in our faith!

I, too, walked into 2025 with hope. While it was scary at first, I’ve shifted my heart to seek the goodness of God to give me peace and keeping my mind stayed on Him. And, I feel the shift!

I agree. I went into 2024 wondering if I would ever be happy again, withering under such powerful existential dread that I was afraid for my own safety. One year later, I'm so full of hope for the future! I've made an insane amount of resolutions. I jokingly shared a post on Tumblr that said "I'm going to succeed because I'm crazy" but that's how it feels--like I'm wrestling my hope and my joy and my future out of the hands of the enemy. And all this because God intervened and miraculously healed me of my depression a few months ago.

Thank you for sharing this message of hope!

Yes, Aslan is on the move!! This reminds me of a reflection I wrote on Isaiah 24, The Day of the Lord. In particular, the prophet speaks of a remnant:

“They lift up their voices, they sing for joy; over the majesty of the Lord they shout from the west. Therefore in the east give glory to the Lord; in the coastlands of the sea, to the name of the Lord, the God of Israel. From the ends of the earth we hear songs of praise, of glory to the Righteous One.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24‬:‭14‬-‭16‬ ‭RSV‬‬
